Joining the beta
How the private beta works and how to apply.
Moonshine is currently in private beta. Access is limited and we’re onboarding studios shipping shows now — touring crews, install teams, event leads.
How to apply
Join the waitlist on the landing page. The form asks for three things:
- Your work email
- Your studio or company name
- A short note on what you’re shipping — touring show, festival install, cathedral mapping, whatever it is
We read every submission. If your work fits the current beta cohort, we’ll reach out personally to schedule a setup call.
What “in” looks like
If we accept your application, you get:
- A signed build of the TouchDesigner extensions to drop into your project
- Access credentials for the operator browser interface
- A direct Slack or email channel with us for bug reports and questions
- Early access to features as they ship — usually weekly cadence
We’re working closely with each beta studio. Expect us to ask questions back, ride along on a setup or two via screen-share, and request feedback after each show.
What we’re prioritizing
This is a working product, not a demo. We’re optimizing for shows that ship. If you have a job in the next 60 days, that’s the kind of pressure that makes Moonshine better.
We’re prioritizing:
- Studios with multiple operators on the same show
- Surfaces that aren’t flat — sculpture, architecture, custom rigs
- Workflows where alignment time matters and a tight team-based feedback loop matters more
We’re not currently prioritizing:
- Solo operators with a single laptop and a single projector — the product still works but the multi-user surface is the differentiator and you won’t feel it
- Cloud / remote-only collaboration — Moonshine is LAN-local by design
When the public release happens
There is no committed timeline. The beta is the runway to the public release; the duration is whatever it takes for the product to feel right under real show pressure. Expect months, not weeks.
If you’d rather wait for general availability, the waitlist email will let you know when GA opens — same form, no separate signup.
